COELBO developed and patented in 1988 an electronic device that replaced the traditional mechanical pressure switches to control the startup and stop of pumps.
This device had so many advantages that spread rapidly around the world and nowadays still remains in force.
The advantages of this device are basically the integration into a single compact device: a pressure sensor to control the start pressure, a flow sensor to manage the stop pressure and to prevent dry-running operation of the pump, a membrane giving elasticity to the hydraulic net avoiding constant starts and stops of the pump due to water leakages in the installation, a check valve, easily adjustable starting pressure and a pressure gauge.
Basically, this device starts the pump when a faucet is opened in the installation and stops the pump when water consumption is finished.
Based on these premises, they have been developed over the years a wide variety of devices to suit market needs.
